Description

Here is another complete reprocessing of old image data from 2018 - a year with much better weather than during the last months! It was taken with my old but good EOS 700Da and the refractor. Especially for the galaxy core I combined the 180 sec frame stack with the overall stacked images to create a HDR image.

M31 is still about 2.5 million light-years away from us. But it approaches the Milky Way center with a radial velocity of about 114 km/s. Hence, in 4 to to ten billion years the Andromeda galaxy is expected to collide with our Milky Way. Under a dark starry sky M31 can already be observed with the naked eye, but only in the telescope the real splendor of this galaxy is revealed.

I hope you enjoy it.
